Patsy has been sewing since 2005 and is a well-known bridal and formal wear seamstress in Calgary, Alberta. With years of expertise and a passion for teaching, she’ll guide you step by step through the ins and outs of the sewing world. From the basics to advanced techniques, you’ll build confidence while making something you’re proud of, plus, you’ll meet new friends along the way!

Classes

Introductory - $60

Upon completion of this class, you will have a free Unravel Creations Sewing Kit, basic knowledge of the machine, and a certificate of completion.

Time: 2 Hours
Prerequisites: Not Required

    • Introduction to your Unravel Creations Sewing Kit

Beginner - $150

Upon completion of this class, you will know how to sew basic stitches. You will be making an apron with ties, a pocket, and a ruffle or straight trim. You will also receive a certificate of completion.

Age: 15+
Time: 3 Sessions (1 Hour once a week)
Prerequisites: Introductory Class or equivalent experience

    • Straight and Zigzag stitch

    • Sewing a curved line

    • Gathering/Ruffling fabrics

    • Sewing Machine

    • Unravel Creations Sewing Kit

    • The following will be provided or you can bring your own:

    • 1.5 meters of cotton

    • Two packages of matching double folded bias tape

Intermediate - $250

Upon completion of this class, you will know how to sew buttons and button holes, and all kinds of zippers. You will be making a sewing machine organizer with a button closure pocket and a zipper closure pocket. You will also get a certificate of completion.

Time: 3 Sessions (2 hours once a week)
Prerequisites: Beginner Class or equivalent experience

    • Sewing a button and buttonhole

    • Sewing a visible zipper

    • Sewing an invisible zipper

    • Sewing an overlap zipper

    • The following will be provided or you can bring your own:

    • 0.5 meters of cotton

    • Two packs of matching double folded bias tape

    • One 1” button

    • One regular 6” or longer zipper

Advanced - $250

Upon completion of this class, you will be able to read, understand, and use a commercial paper pattern. You will be making a sling/fanny pack with a zipper, buckles, and pockets. You will also get a certificate of completion.

Prerequisites: Intermediate Class or equivalent experience

    • Read and understand a commercial paper pattern

    • Laying a pattern correctly on the fabric

    • Prep and cut a paper pattern

    • How to install buckles

    • The following will be provided or you can bring your own:

    • Outer Fabric: 0.7 metres of cotton

    • Inner Lining: 0.7 metres of cotton

    • Two 9” zippers

Bundled Classes - $650

Upon completion of this class, you will have:

Workshops

Tote Bag - $95

Upon completion of this workshop, you will have completed a custom Tote Bag.

Upon completion of this workshop, you will have a beautiful keep sake teddy bear made out of your loved one’s garments.
